Today we had our first winter club run of the new year. There was a light sprinkling of snow on the roads and vast areas of the Huntingdonshire countryside were under water, the worst floods for over thirty years. Most of the run was spent in various tea stops en-route. The conversation got around to bikes and equipment specifically when were Campag Record brakes first used and by who? The general opinion was from 1965 in developmental states but truly as the finished article in 1968 by Vittorio Adorni World Proffesional Road Champion and Eddy Merckx plus several other riders names now forgotten, by our small group. We think that these were the first true Record brakes that went on sale in the UK in 1969. Are we right and who were the other riders, any information would be appreciated.
