Subject: [CR]Another George Mount encounter

Last September I flew down to the San Francisco Bay Area for the "Dino Ride", a loosely organised annual ride for the old guard of the Central California bike community. We rode out to Patterson Pass from Del Valle regional park in the east bay foothills - about the best secluded and quiet roads that remain in the area.

George Mount was the event oganizer and he gave generously of his time, wallet, and sense of humor - and put on the post ride barbeque. He had cases of pop and beer, plus lots of burgers and weenies in the back of his Toyota Pickup. Many stories were told and good times re-lived. I had met George only a few times before, but I felt welcome and very much a part of the crowd. A true gentleman and a charter member of the "brotherhood of the wheel" as Jeff Groman would put it.
