It was a fun day and the enthusiasm of the list members that I met was undampened. As others have attested, there was some nice old iron on display. I exercised remarkable restraint in limiting my purchases to a Rodney Moseman frame, a Suntour Cyclone crankset, a set of apparently new Gran Sport brake levers, a Regina Oro Extra freewheel, and a $5 pair of unused Yvarlux toestraps (by Pataraud!) that caught my eye. Never heard of Yvarlux but I do have an M. Yvars bike - a bit like a Follis 172 but cheaper yet. Probaby worth less than the toestraps...
The Rodney Moseman frame was purchased from Sam Fitzsimmons and is a bit on the large size for me at 60cm but I'm going to try it anyway. Harvey Sachs gets a shot at it if it proves too large. I emailed Rodney who is most well-known for his tandems and he indicated that it was one of his first frames. I'll try and get it out to him so he can see it. Brazeons limited to a top of chainstay cable stop, over BB cable guides, and an "M" on the head tube. Full Reynolds 531, thinned long point Prugnat lugs, Campagnolo dropouts w/ fender eyelets, vertical in the rear, full-sloping fork crown, and cleanly executed full wrapover seatstays.
Best of all was just hanging out with the CR folk. Sorry to have missed Walt. I'm betting that I saw his booth but didn't know it was him.
