Subject: [CR]introduction

As indicated in the membership rules, here is a brief introduction. I am 53 years old, and began cycling on a balloon-tired Huffy in 1954; proceeded to a Schwinn bendix-geared 2 speed in '62, and to a St Etienne 10 speed in 1968. (sold) Motobecane Grand touring '73 (to Goodwill in '99) Motobecane Le Champion '76 ( a wall ornament due to rust and stress) Schwinn Paramount SDP/OS '90 (usual ride) Woodrup Touring '82 (restored) Raleigh Competition /GS '78 (original) F W Evans '65 ( frame only, a work in progress) Basso mixte '80 (my wife's bike, a bubble gum pink Basso ) Marinoni '90(beautiful lugwork and paint, but a bit too tall for my wife!) DaVinci S&S '2001 tandem (steel but not lugged)

I love to ride, and am acquiring a basement full of wonderful classic bikes........and parts.....I'm a member of the Tandem @ Hobbes list as well.

RE: Motobecane question...my Le Champion is a typical French road frame, no chrome, eyelets on the forks, pale purple with black lettering and a black sticker on the head tube, not a nameplate like was on the '73 Grand Touring.
