After looking at the bike, I remember that after the 1997 Giro (won by Ivan Gotti on a cannondale, SAECO) and his teammate Cipo won 4 or 5 stages (Cipo also wore the Maglia Rosa hence cannondale made a pink bike and a purple one when Cipo wore the Ciclamina Jersey for points), cannondale had a contest/auction of virtually all the team bikes so the story rings true enough. Personally I want his legs (and his black book) and not necessarily his bike.
