Thanks for the photo heads up Aldo. I notice that this Claud has the
bracket under the Bottom bracket, so has the short tensioner arm with the
adjuster cable..The shifting fork is bent forward at a nasty angle. It
should slope back at about 60 degrees. The owner has left the cable
tensioner device still clamped to the cable! This is meant to come off after
you have got the tension right and locked the cable clamp which can be seen
just in front of it. He then needs to shorten the cable about 2 inches. I
would advise a clip on the stay to stop the cable being damaged either by
that gorgeous chainwheel or the tyre. My original Osgear cable is the old
coil spring type. You can find this stuff by stripping an old MIG welder
cable. it hasthe benefit of being stainlees steel too. Makes great brake
cable as well.
