I bought a NOS 979 with Shimano 600 on it, via ebay, for $250! It still had the bicycle shop price tag on the handlebars. Bought it for my wife to keep in her office, for lunch-time rides. It was built with sew-ups, had a suede unicanitor seat. Re-laced the wheels and put her preferred seat and pedals on it. It's her second 979.

I've always wanted to be like Sean Kelly, but I was too big for a vitus even at racing weight. They are nice bikes.
