Sirs, I would agree with Sam about Vitus 979 frames, when I worked at "Bike Tech" Bristol in the 80's we sold quite a few Vitus 979 frames and the carbon version,we did get quite a few breakages! We had Sean Kellys' Paris-Roubaix winning 979 on show once which atracted the crowds,we examined the frame closely, not only had it different dimensions and angles than a "standard" frame,it also had steel reinforcement inserts at the bottom bracket/seat/down tube and along the chainstays! These were added we think,in order to give the frame some stiffness for Kellys strength over the cobbles!
