I sold Raleighs slightly before that (1972-3) and then afterwards was fairly alert to the supply situation in 75-76 (when cycles de ORO first opened, not as a Raleigh dealer.).. In any case, as I recall the 753 was available as a quite-a-bit higher priced option. As the archives may tell, there also was a problem with those early 753 frames breaking. "Bad batch of chain stays"?) It might be best to ride that bike only with loving tenderness?
