We had a good group for last Friday's get-together of local vintage lightweights enthusiasts. Steve Neago, Mike Self, and Scott Goldsmith from the 20 miles south, Ron Gurth from 120 miles west, and David McCauley Myers from right here in Middletown. Three folks cancelled, and three lost their way, but even this small gathering managed to squeeze almost 5 hours of biketalk out of one-another!

Mike brought a few of his Bates, including the 1941 he's been playing with. Reslilionionseson (sp?) brakes, goofy derailleur, fantasic Diadrant forks and bulging frame tubes make for a quirky/eccentric/amazing bicycle.

Steve Neago brought nearly 500 Lbs of computer equipment and produce a set of Learco Guerra stickers for my bike rack, along with a few other odds-n-ends for folks.

I think everyone brought more beer than they drank, so I have enough bottles and cans in the fridge to see me through until the next gathering (sometime after Jaunuary 1st).

Next time we'll have a Tour de France puzzle to work on, and the old VeloNews bicycle racing board game to play :-)

Thanks to everyone for coming. Hope we can have even more folks next time!
