A huge THANK YOU must go out to Chuck Schmidt for organizing another successful event. Alot of work and organizational skills were required and Chuck once again came through. The city of Pasadena added some new financial hurdles this year such as a huge increase in the permit fees and the requirement for a city attendant to supervise us at $28/hour(?!) which had to add to his stress level. The need to play bad cop to interlopers who stroll in and assume the catered lunch is free, and who knows what else, were all handled with unflappable aplomb. I think Chuck did a great job and deserves our gratitude. Putting on an event like this involves a lot of work, as Dale would know, and this shouldn't be underestimated. I would really like to see another vintage bike event on the calender, perhaps up in the SF Bay area as some are lobbying for, but Velo Rendezvous in Pasadena the first part of October is something we all should continue to look forward to. Photos will be posted shortly , as will detailed event reports, but a public thank you comes first. Attaboys encouraged;Dale, I'm sure, will condone. Jay Van De Velde Seal Beach, CA
