Pat, I can't help you out on the Motobecane...but if my memory is still intact (questionable) I believe the last year for the flat head V-8 was 1953. I remember Ford introducing an OHV V-8 in '54 and Chevy came out with their's in '55. Bruce Schrader San Francisco
