Just over a week ago, I offered a set of open 'C' Campagnolo Q/R skewer levers. Since I didn't receive any answers, I guess that either nobody was interested in the levers, or the quiz question was so obscure that nobody was able to answer.
The original post was:
> Dave Patrick has given me a pair of open 'C' Q/R skewer levers and suggested
> that we have a little quiz/contest among CR listmembers to award them to a
> deserving person. The quiz/contest is open to all except Dave, Matteo and me
> and involves explaining the significance of some slightly obscure names to
> Italian cycling (hence Matteo's disqualification, scusami amico!)

> The question to answer is: What is the importance of the following three
> anglosaxon names to Italian vintage cycling: Palmer, Carter and Humber.
To those that were interested, but simply didn't know the answer, the three names are commonly used in Italy to designate:
Carter: full chaincase Humber: 'inch' or 'skiptooth' chain pitch Palmer: tubular tire
Since there was no 'winner', I have now put them up on ebay with all proceeds to be donated to Dale to help defray a minimal part of the costs of running Le Cirque 2004. The Ebay auction can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/
Bid one, bid all for this good cause!
