Mike,

The lugs that appear on the Masi frame and replica are Nervex Professional. I believe they were introduced around 1958 or 59 and first seem to appear on 1960 to 63 Masi Specials. These are my personal favorite period of Masi. I am truely fortunate to also own a 1962 50cm(!!) Masi Special road bike that was imported by none other than Peter Rich of Velo Sport. It's a road bike and in very nearly original condition. She's a beauty. Rex's track bike is the only one I know of that does more for me than the "Spanish Blue" track bike. Rex also has a matching Masi road bike I restored to look just like the track machine.

Nervex lugs are obviously one of my favorite lug patterns to use as is or to modify.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I'm going to tell the story about Peter Rich and Faliero & Son that everyone has been mentioning. I got all of the details clarified directly from Peter; it's a true peach of a tale! Stay tuned. I'll spray some clear and be back.
