In 2nd gear. But do make sure the control rod and indicator are screwed together - before refitting them check that they practically screw completely together - be gentle - it's very easy to twist off the end of the indicator. Then refit. If the gear does not work then, remove the left-hand cone and remove the innards completely (unscrew the rh ball cup) and send to me - I will sort it out!
