I have no idea why this would be considered a British bike! I looked over the rims and found the following -
Rigida Superchromix - Made in France
At this point there is more French about this bike than British with all the following being made in France -
Hubs - Maillard Rear Derailleur and shifter - Simplex Crankset - Solida Pedals - Lyotard 136R Chain - Stamped - Made in France
The other bits -
Handlebars - ITM - Italian Freewheel - Regina - Italian Stem - Unknown Seat post - Unknown Brakes - Weinmann - Swiss
Hmm... Maybe multiculturalism has its roots in cycling
