At the time it was published it was considered the best source of racing information. It was quite good for its day and beat the sketchy information otherwise available.
That was a great price as these books were expensive in their day and usually sell for about $75 or so now.
I can't find my copy in the bookshelf now but I remember lots of earnest notations I made on the merits of one idea or another.
