BICYCLING SCIENCE by Frank Whitt and David Gordon Wilson 364p excellent condition. 2nd Edition. The best book there is on the science and mechanics of cycling. $24
THE ROAD TO SPEED by Lon Pullen and Len Thorpe 103p Lon Pullen only essentially wrote two cycling books The Cycling Handbook (which did have three editions) and this one. The Cycling Hanbook is the best techical cycling book from the 50s and this one is equally good but analyses many top rider¹s positions with the aid of photos from Len Thorpe who was the leading cycling photographer in Britain the 1950s. A great book which will help you size a bike as it was supposed to be back in the 50s. $35
BROWN BROTHERS CATALOGUE 1959 Brown Bros were one of the largest wholesalers of cycle parts in Britain with depots all over the country. Their catalogue covered a very wide range of cycle parts - everything from roadsters to lightweights. In keeping with this wide range of bits it is a very large catalogue - 240 pages. This catalogue is a bit scruffy with a dirty cover and loose binding - they normally go for for over $80 on Ebay this one is offered at just $35
BICYCLE FRAMES by Joe Kossack published by Anderson World 1975 48 pages crammed full of information on frame design and frame building in the 1970s with bits of info on the exotica such the Teledyne Titan and Composte Developments Graphite frame as well as short section by Colin Laing on building a steel frame. A fascinating small book $22
CHICKEN AND SONS CATALOGUE c1988 Chickens were the British importers of Weinmann, 3ttt, Esge, Sachs 112 pages Many spares diagrams as well as complete specs and lots of photos and a bonus of several interesting feature articles such as one on wheel building by Monty Young of Condors, Malcom Elliott on the Milk Race and several more, fascinating $15
