I agree with these comments and like these headsets but there is one warning.
The V-4 requires very precise alignment of the faces between the steerer threads, fork crown face, and the head tube faces. Ordinary bearings allow some misalignment while the V type and tapered roller bearings must be very precise.

Its what was standard on my '68 PX-10 and had a very good reputation. The headset was never quite as smooth as Campy's, but with four points of contact, it was solid and had a very good longevity. I couldn't get Campy headsets to last more than a year, but I never brinneled a V-4. Loose balls, I forget what size and the head tube had to be faced precisely, but I would love to get one myself in English thread. Anyone?
