I've been getting my colored cloth tape from Rivendell recently because none of the suppliers my shop works with have any cloth tape other than black. Rivendell has some higher end Japanese tape, but it is only in mint and gray.
I bought white tape for the Monte and when wrapping it last night, noticed it wasn't nearly as easy to use as the stuff I remember buying in my youth. I *think* the tape I used to use was thicker and stretchier. Could that be?
I also remember finding way cool colors too. My blue Trek had purple bar tape with matching purple cable housing. Ok, not very "correct," but that was in 1981...
