One thing that killed Raleigh/USA was the tendency to rip off their own brands. One year a "raleigh team" is a campy super record bike, and two years later it's right at the bottom of the line. sheesh. The Record Ace on Ebay is a 1979 model near to the bottom of the line. Only three rampar models were lower (rampar R1T, R-2, R-1027). See the 1979 record ace in my 1979 catalogue here:
