I guess I ever really realized that 26.2 Record seatposts were that hard to find, but then I haven't been searching for one either. Interesting nonetheless.

But what I am wondering is when the 130mm shorty Record posts went away. I don't know this. They weren't that uncommon in the early 70's when I spent my time working as a shop mechanic. But I moved on in 1976 to other endeavors. My 1976 catalog shows both lengths available. 180mm was standard for seatpost #1044, they simply note to specify length and diameter when ordering. My 1982 "olympic" catalog only gives the #1044 seatpost a 180mm length. No mention of a shorter seatpost availability. I don't have any catalogs or supplements in between these years. Anybody out there know when the short Record posts ceased?

Would a 26.2 diameter 130mm length NOS Record seatpost be the "holy grail" of modern-day Campagnolo seatposts???? LOL, ;^)
