I contacted this seller a couple of weeks ago when he advertised a very special Cinelli, with bivalent hubs and a badged stem (see ad copied below). In case you don't remember, I'm the person 'looking for a Cinelli'. I could tell from the ad that this was not the bike I really wanted, both in terms of price and in terms of putting it on the road. I also suspected that this might be a fraud, given certain items in the ad, such as a statement to the effect that I should have my financial solicitor contact his bank. In any case, I decided to contact him anyway out of curiosity and in case I might get lucky.
He told me that this bike was stored in the US. He apparently ordered it new many years ago as an investment and never had any intention of using it. Now he's cashing in this and various other investments. He does in fact have some bikes that he rides and which he may also be selling soon. I have first dibs on his other Cinelli!

Rare 1969 Cinelli Super Corsa (not the Special Corsa) with Reynolds 531DB main triangle with Columbus stays and fork including the spiral steering tube. The entire sloping crown fork is chromed, stays are half-chromed, head and seat lugs are chromed, and there are also four chromed bands on the seat tube with Cinelli crest in the middle (entire seat tube is chromed underneath). The color of the frame is silver. It is also fitted with a grease nipple on the BB. The equipment is Campagnolo Record group with rare Campagnolo Record rear derailleur (looks like Gran Sport but with alloy arms). Also it has Campagnolo Handlebar Controls with rubber hoods and rare Campagnolo downtube stops for HB control cables with a pump holder. The hubs are rare Cinelli "bivalent" hubs with Schren Wermeister rims with Wolber Transalpino Criterium silks. Also included is an extra "Bivalent" wheel. The HB stem is a Cinelli Model 1 Road with the badge (not to confused with Model 2 & 3 Track or dural 1/A). Also included with the bike is an autographed and framed photograph of Cino Cinelli with his Frejus standing next to Fausto Coppi in 1939 Giro di Campania race. All items except the photo are vintage 1969 and are in superb condition and are stored in a climate controlled facility. There are a number of rather unusual and eclectic bikes that are presently being offered for sale in a variety of places including on the CR for sale page. One taken from the Campy only for sale site is:
1981 SanRenSho (3Rensho) East German TTT bicycle by Konno Yoshi of former Cyclone Ltd. The bicycle has oval head, down, and seat tubes with aero fastback seat stays and aero fork blades. ..
On the CR page, there is one for a Hetchins...
Does anybody know about the seller or where the bikes come from (is the seller a list member?) The bikes all seem to be seriously collectible, but rather as pieces of art than as rideable. My guess is that it is the collection of a Japanese collector. Perhaps we can all donate our first born and put together a CR museum.
