You mean that they do not have a standard DVD format? I thought by now they would figured out how to do it. It is enough of a pain to have to deal with having PAL instead of NTSC all the time. Maybe they are trying to make pirating a bit more difficult, which is a huge problem here. Not that I mind saving a bit of money, but sometimes you can buy what you think is an original, paying a little extra and you end with a ratty pirate copy. They are doing the copying very well in Southeast Asia. And there is some concern here in Sydney that pirating of video/audio is starting to surpass drug trafficking in volume and importance to the organised crime world. You get busted with a microscopic amount of crack and you can end in prison, but you only get a small fine and slap on the wrist for a container load of pirated DVD's, CD's and video tapes.
