R O HARRISON 23in (ctt) FRAME with 23in (CTC) top tube. This thought to be a Super Circuit model from 1948. R O Harrison built frames at Maurice Selbachs in the early 1930s before leaving to set up his own business in 1933. Maurice Selbach was one of the top framebuilding establishments in Britain in the 1920s and 1930s ranking higher than Claud Butler at that time. R O Harrison was a much smaller affair but had an excellent reputation for quality frames. This frame (frame number 118xxxx uses a similar numbering system to that at Selbachs 11 is the month and 8 is the year. It features rather nicely cut to continental style lugs quite similar to that used by Gillott in the spearpoint design. It has Chater Lea rear ends spaced at about 115mm - almost certainly originally used with a 3-speed derailleur. Paintwork is I think a period red flam on silver repaint and is quite scratched - almost all buyers will want to redo it - this I can arrange at Argos at cost and the correct repro transfers are available. However the frame does not appear to be dented at all or suffer from any pitting. The Super Circuit model was the one designed for road racing. Photos available. $195

TA HANDLEBAR MOUNT BOTTLE CAGE NOS complete with fittings $45

CAMPAGNOLO RECORD REAR GEAR excellent example fitted with new grey pulleys of the correct type. It is in very lightly used condition with unmarked chrome. There is no perceptible wear in the parallelogram bushings. $165

HURET COURSE DERAILLEUR c1948 NOS NIB It is in perfect condition and comes complete with the twin lever, cables and clips. One lever changes gear whilst the other adjusts the chain tension. This is not a common derailleur and would make a great addition to any late 40s road bike. It bolts to the rear dropout. $85

HARDEN LARGE FLANGE TRACK or ROAD/TRACK HUBS 32/40H with threads for a fixed sprocket on one side of the rear hub. Harden hubs are some of the best and easiest rolling hubs ever made in England. Harden hubs were manufactured in Britain between 1946 and about 1954. They use annular cartridge bearing ball races which are easily replaced when worn. The races are a standard Imperial size and can be obtained from any bearing merchant. They are excellent. The hubs are in excellent condition and are almost unmarked. The spoke holes have not been enlarged by loose spokes or being redrilled. The threads on the hub are in perfect condition. I rate these hubs as being the very best ever made in Britain. $110
