Subject: [CR]Cinelli Headbadge Results

Ladies and gentlemen,

Here are the results of the Cinelli headbadge competition:

Drum roll please!

Will Mr. Antique (certainly not a reference to the gentleman's possible own antiquity, rather to his discerning eye from years of collecting), Mr. TOM SANDERS please step forward out of the pack! Tom successfully nailed three out of the four fakes from the photo. Congratulations! A most excellent job, while no one else was even close. What's your secret Tom? Even Mr Andrea Cinelli participated in the little exercise, courtesy of Steven Maasland. Please note his comments below, especially those pertaining to the snake color on the small badges.

Those of you who lost, take heart, these are good copies, and Mr Cinelli missed on one of his choices as well. Your efforts were admirable, and I had a lot of fun watching them!

The photo with the answers (fake badges have the Japanese script over them) is posted at:

Andrea Cinelli has responded below. The translation of his comments would be:
>From the images, it is very difficult to distinguish the background colors, and the surface.

I can only say that

1) all the smaller badges (the originals that I have) have a gold colored lily on white background (the snake is also in gold) 2) On the larger badges, the lily is red on white background (the snake is green).

I will leave the choice up to you (badge E seems to respond most to the above-mentioned requirements) You would also need to feel them to be sure.

Thanks for playing!
