How cool is this list??? After posing the question (see below) about a single shifter boss on my recently acquired Picchio Special, and mentioning that I had seen a reference to a similar bike in the CR Archives. Art Yow contacted me about the bike in question. It appears that it was previously owned by a late friend of Art's who willed the bike to Art. Since it was too large for Art (56x56 c-c), he eventually sold the bike.

Art took the time to fill me in on all of the details about going to Torino, and purchasing 2 Picchio's from Angelo (and wishing he had bought more). He went in to fantastic details about the bike's previous lives, history, and setup. Way cool. Very seldom is a person able to find out so much details about a bike.

He also informed me (and I suspected) about the bike --that it was a repaint and that the left shifter boss had been removed by his friend during the repaint. He also informed me that underneath the paint the bike was BLACK CHROME. When it's in full chrome glory, I think the phrase he used was "looked like it's in stealth mode". He said to imagine all of the qualities of chrome and envision it in black. Anyway, this was the original surface of the bike when it was delivered by Angelo.

Does anyone know anything about black chrome? What about refinishing? Would this entail any additional precautions? Any information on this type of chrome would be appreciated.
