Subject: [CR]WTB Pogliaghi/Insurance

This past Thursday I was involved in a moderate speed head on collision with a Lincoln Continental and the Continental was a winner in that contest. Very fortunately, I was a very very lucky guy - nothing broken and hopefully I'll be riding again before long. As for my Pog - its a goner I think. Fork, top tube and down tube are seriously crunched and even if I were to try to rebuild from what's left, it would not seem like it was a Pog anymore since more than half of the frame would need to be rebuilt. This bike was from the early to mid 70's with Serial # d663(10,663?) and was purchased this past summer. It was a great riding bike - handled well with great comfort and stability. I will miss riding it a lot.

1.) I'm asking if anyone out there has or knows of someone that might like to sell their Pog. I'm looking for a late 60's to mid 70's 58-59cm frame. All conditions considered.

2.) Since the accident was 100% the other guy's fault, I need to file a claim for the value of my old frame(and a lot of other stuff). My frame was not pristine - but it was original paint with significant amounts of carefully done touch up. Overall the frame was in very good condition. There were no structural problems with the frame at all. My dilemma is in trying to assess a fair replacement cost for the frame. I can't just go down to my LBS and check on the current price. If anyone has dealt with a similar situation or could be of any assistance, I would be very appreciative. Please contact me off list. All relies will be handled confidentially.

Thanks much,
