Subject: [CR]Windsor Pro Frame Swap ?

I'm pretty new to CR, but think I'm ready to get to work on a winter

project.

I have a Windsor Pro that is WAY too small for me, but a nice project candidate nonetheless.

I wonder if anyone else out there has the reverse situation as me......and might have a large frame that is too big for them, and would like to swap frames (only) with mine? I live in Southern California, and could hook up in person with anyone living in the general vicinity. (I'm guessing there might have been lots of these bikes in Southern Cal, as the distributor was located in Culver City here.)

I've put some pictures of the bike (and a messy garage - sorry for that background !) at this link:

>From what I have read, I think the frame is from the 70's. It has a columbus tube decal, the 'made in mexico' decal, and another one that mentions 'Eddie Merckx' (and the CR page documents the info quite well: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Mexico/Windsor_Merckx.htm). The bottom bracket has 9 holes drilled in it, and the Chrome is in pretty nice shape. The head tube is ALL chrome - I'm not sure if it came that way, or the original paint and decal were rubbed off. (If anyone has comments, tips or information about the bike, I'd appreciate hearing them. And I'm wondering about decals too ...do you think they'd be available for this bike ??).

On the lug at the top of the seat tube is a 4 digit number (I tried to take a picture of that, but it didn't come out. I can get that number if you'd like. I assume its the serial number? or run number ??).

Size: My Frame: This bike measures 51cm c-c on the seat tube, and 52 cm c-c on the top tube. Under the bottom bracket is stamped the number '52' - so I assume Windsor called it a size '52'.

What I'd need: I'm 6' tall, so I'm thinking a 58cm c-c or 60cm c-c seat tube would be what I'd need, with a ballpark 58cm c-c top tube length. (maybe a frame stamped 58 ??)

The pictures show the whole bike, but I'm suggesting a FRAME & FORK ONLY swap.

Thanks for looking.
