There is one over riding reason to use the high flange hubs...they are just so darn much prettier! And while we are at it, let me sing a song of praise for the high flange fixed gear Phil Wood hubs that Harris Cyclery sells on their web site. They are just gorgeous, and I wish I had a pair even if I don't have a bike to put 'em on just yet. A fixie is ordered, though!
