Thanks for your note.

Somebody else mentioned in a private reply that he thought the Velox plugs were standard equipment on his 1968 Peugeot...

Here is the note I found in Le Cycle January/February 1972, p. 24, in a column titled "Le Monde des 2 Roues" (The World of 2-Wheelers):

A few new items signed Velox (i.e., made by Velox), left, a cap for the generator (dynamo) wheel, and two models of bar end plugs, attachment with screw (the model we are talking about) or force (i.e., press-fit), and a box of 10 rolls of luxury bar tape made from plastic.

The accompanying drawing shows the plug, with slotted screw, and it says on it "Velox Made in France".

Could be that this is a new version of the plugs, rather than the introduction of the plugs. So don't conclude that your 1968 Peugeot has incorrect plugs simply based on my previous post.

Then I wonder when they switched from the large outside diameter to the later small outside diameter.

I have a card of the larger plugs in various colors, and I would swear the artwork looks like 1950s!
