For $2,300, perhaps we should be grateful... had it been cleaned, the price might be a few hundred dollars higher. What I find more interesting is that the seller refers to surface rust as "wonderful patina". What a charming catch-all term that phrase seems to have become. Next time my wife asks if I think she's getting old, I think I'll just say something about her lovely patina...
