Dale,

Having done quite a number of these BB shells in my day, I can say thay the typical amount of time to shape and file smoothe a Fischer shell is around two hours. If you alter the shape much then that time is more.

The Fischer sand cast BB shells appear on very few frames. I've only seen them in Italian threads. Cinelli used the version with the chainstay socket points on the sides of the tube. The Montelaticis have the same shell, as they were made by Cinelli. Masi used the version that has the points on the top and bottom of the chainstay tubes. I can recall no other bikes with the Masi style shell, although early DeRosa and Tomassinni frames probably are seen with one or the other back in the day. The first Cinelli IC BB shells were patterned after these two Fischer Shells.

The early Carlsbad Masis all has these shells. Each frame required 4 hours of filing after brazing; presumably nearly two hours of it smoothing and thinning the shell. Lots of work for a production frame. I do not miss these particular shells in terms of the work they required, but when worked to the max are quite beautiful.
