The other famous British Jewish cycle maker was Maurice Selbach 1920's-30's. The British Cycling scene was at one time very political motivated. Here is brief list of some of the more outwardly politically minded clubs. 1. The Clarion CC. Socialist. 2. Spartacus CC. Communist. 3. Primrose Conservative. 4. . There were many Co-Operative cycling clubs in all regions of the UK who were part of the Labour & Co-operative party. Liverpool Co-Operative CC. was one of the most famous of these. We also had British cycling clubs based on religious grounds. Saint Christopher's CC. Catholic & Bermondsey Gospel Mission CC. The British General Strike in 1926 was started in the canteen of the Daily Mail by the compositors chapel ( T.U. Branch & Section) after a Sunday club run of their members. These were the first to go out on strike in sympathy with the miner's and the whole thing escalated into the General Strike.
