I guess I still don't understand the anxiety of getting wrapped around the axle on these terms. I have never purchased a bike from ebay or anywhere else because someone said it was a classic or vintage or some other term. I look the bike over, ask questions and decide if I like/want the bike based off of that criteria. I can go a bit further than most here because I have purchased many bikes from different gendres and periods. I have or had bikes from almost each decade starting with the 1870s to present. I have high wheelers, motobikes, road, touring, track, time trial, muscle, balloon, middleweight, BMX, English, French, unicycles and an assortment of novelty bikes. Not once do I remember buying because it was a classic or vintage bike in the description. If I used some kind of adjective filter when searching for bikes that did not use the correct terms then I would have missed out on a lot of bikes. Maybe I am showing my age but I stopped trying to change the world a long time ago. I found out that not caring about insignificant issues has made my life more enjoyable and I have more time to ride and collect. Bottom line, what is the point? How does one propose to stop everyone from using these terms improperly?
