Jay,
Yes, I just completed the fixed-gear conversion of a 1978 Raleigh Super Course. It started out as a $20 yardsale bike with dented top tube. The original Raleigh parts I used were the Raliegh GB stem and bars (turned bars upside down, cut them off, and wrapped with vintage bright red plastic tape), the Raliegh SR seatpost, and the Raliegh SR cranks with 42 tooth chainwheel. I added a black Cinelli Unicanitor plastic saddle, black BMX-style handbrake lever, Weinmann side-pull front brake, Shimano 105 aero pedals with black clips/straps; early 60's vintage track wheels with F.B. hubs, Nisi rims, SS spokes, 20 tooth rear cog, and blackwall Clement Strada tires. I repaired the top tube dent with body filler and painted the frame with basecoat/clearcoat urethane in the same "Monza Red" color as my '69 Corvette. It looks and rides great. I'll post a picture on the "fixedgeargallery" soon.
