FWIW, in 1987 or 1988 I bought a brand new Corsa or Corsa Extra, pearl white with red panels, round-font decals and Eddy on the head and seat tubes. Don't remember whether it was SL or SLX. I believe it had a semi-sloping fork crown. Wish I still had it. Set it up like my heroes on 7-11 with Dura-Ace and Cinelli.
Wish I still had it.
My advice would be Ed, but I have never done a resto-quality paint job before. Ed's local to me. Have you tried the Merckx home office in Belgium?
Someday, someway, somehow I will own a ~60cm Molteni Merckx with Nuovo or Super Record. :) (Anyone here got one they'd part with?)
