I fully agree. This is just another reason why I am convinced this bike was made before the end of WWII. Like the Ganna that was offered recently that had both the dropouts with teeth and the the gran sport derailleurs, this bike was a transition period bike, set up for use with either of the prevailing gear systems of the day. In this case, if you were to stick ot Italian systems, that was either Cambio Corsa or Margherita Vittoria. The similar vintage Bianchi that I will be shipping over from Italy shortly has the same levers but does not have the VM mount feature.
