In a message dated 12/3/03 1:33:20 PM, LouDeeter quotes Richard Sachs:

<< the first ever 3v was on display at the 79 milan show as a prototype. at that point, the lips were files off the lug edges so that it looked "fillet brazed". eventually, the lips were left on as a design element, the first, (or maybe the first batch of) 3v frames were painted as prestiges because it wasn't a bonefide model yet. i believe it became a model at the 81 milan show. >>

Thanks!

This must be the frame Faliero is holding in the "Il Maestro" article... it has baby-blue paint and looks fillet-brazed but the joints are crisp and tiny, they'd have to be the tiniest fillets you ever saw... It has an aero-style shift lever mount on the top of the down tube and Prestige decals. If you look closely, I believe you can see where the tube joints were, at least on the downtube, either from a slight difference in size between the tube and lug sleeve, or somebody didn't file the lip off very thoroughly.

PS: BTW, anybody know when Campy's aero-mount braze-on first appeared?
