These shops are some legacy.
I'll nominate "International Cycles" on Valley Road, Clifton NJ..
The owner was Eckhard Rieger. Eckhard was at one time the US Cyclocross coach and had a little pro shop.
Even though battling cancer he had patience with an all too substantial 16 year old racer who worked for a competitors shop.
By the way, the whippy cyclocross mount was a Lambert, which he despised. I never broke it (other than the fork).
