Speaking of headset recommendations, what is the list's experience with using Italian headsets on an English steerer? I just bought a 1975 Raleigh Pro from a list member. The only real non-original parts are a replacement chrome fork with a C-Record HS. The original fork was also included, so I plan the reinstall it with the correct Campy NR HS. However, the only NR HS I happen to have is Italian thread. I know that Italian and English are the same thread diameter and pitch, but a slightly different profile. The HS doesn't want to thread onto the original fork easily, and I hate to force it, but maybe I just need to clear the steerer threads. Any advise?
