I have seen NOS aluminum-caged Campy con denti pedals in the dark blue box, and NOS chromed steel-caged con denti pedals in the pale yellow, non-glossy (earlier) box. Clearly the aluminum-caged con dentis are earlier, (and rare as all get-out!). I have seen chromed steel con dentis with a rubber "O"-ring on the spindle in lieu of reverse spiral to keep the dirt out of the bearings. The rubber "O" ring was earlier. The aluminum-caged con dentis had the rubber "O" ring too.

So, my *guess* is aluminum-caged con denti pedals late 50's to early 60's, (1961?, 1962?); Chromed steel con dentis with rubber "O" ring early 60's, (1961?, 1962?, 1963?); Chromed steel con dentis with reverse spiral mid 60's to late 60's.
