Howdy folks.
I don't know for sure yet that everything is on the up and up, but I was high bidder on a bike from this seller. He does take paypal, so you don't have to use western union. I contacted "winning" bidders for like his last 6 bike sales. All were in the U.S. and all got their bikes and were satisfied. They did say that it took a long time, presumeably because of U.S. Customs. It has been about 4 weeks for me, but one buyer said his took 8 weeks but everything worked out in the end.
YMMV,

This is outside our timeline, but such a rare and interesting item that
perhaps some straying on my part will be forgiven. I don't remember one
of these being on the Bicycling magazine cover as claimed or in the
movie cited either, but what a fascinating thing to look at! Item #

And was it really designed for the Pope? Who knows?
