Sew ups were not enough. I sold bikes Italian bikes for $129 with sewups (Tanzini).

Campy dropouts were not enough either or even "good" tubing". Anything went at the height of the bike boom.

Stuff that might have been good at one time (Gnutti hubs, Ballila brakes) seemed to become junk during this time.
