Hey chuck, Stevan, et al...

So happens I just acquired a rear wheel last week with a 36 hole, "No-Record" hub. It has CAM 65 locknuts on both sides. The Fiamme tubular rim has the red oval label with "Brevetti Longhi" across the top, and ferrules in the valve and spoke holes. The spokes are double butted, appear to be chrome, and have the Stella star, raised from a circle that is kinda sunken (sp?) into on the heads. The wheel is built with a cross 4 pattern, and seems to be the first build to the hub, with no previous scars visible. Everything is in very nice condition, save for the age old dusty grease on it, a partially lost and worn label, and oxydation on the spoke ferrules and n.pples. Although I do not know the history or the providence of the wheel, there are no signs to indicate that it is not as original, from about 1965. The shop I acquired it from had many old wheels in the back room from the 50s and 60s. I hope this helps...

As a trivial side note to a different but current thread ... another nice toy that came home with me from the bike shop last week is an FB hub with the BARTALI logo stamped into the center. Appears to be 1950s...

Ciao, Mark Agree Southfield MI
