More info on this saddle:

Brooks will be making 500pc total for the entire 2004 year, and they will be shipping from England in january to the US in lots of 5, if that. The saddles will be initially hand cut, fitted, stitched and finished so there will be a lot of time put into each one. Each one will be serialized and have a certificate of authenticity. I'm sure the packaging will be neato too. The suggested retail of USD$400 will reflect that. There are plans to make the process more automated, which will make them a little less expensive, but Brooks England is not sure when that can happen. Brooks is also asking the customer to register their saddle to validate the authenticity of their saddle.

Also, brooks is 'test marketing' some of their new saddle bags on Ebay starting dec 4th:

But maybe The List knows this already.

Tom Martin glad to be home in Oakland CA

The commute was rainy sunny and warm on the first half and then gloriously sunny and warm on the 2nd half.
