Dale,

Italia! Well, Tesch had spagetti sauce flowing through his veins and probably pissed wine as well! I believe he was atl least 1/2 Italian; which half I couldn't say. He did "talk with his hands" a lot. But I will bring a Liotto to ride; the bike a VERY generous gift from my friend John Pergolizzi which was purchased at Le Cirque this past year, I believe from Greg Parker, (is that correct?). That will be a good rider. I may build it as a 5 speed for simplicities' sake. That should be the limit (assuming I am able to arrange to have one of Dave Staubs' bike on hand).

Starting to sound like fun already. Last year I was restricted to a fixed gear or a single speed FW. I was out of shape (still am), but this time a few gears will help a lot. Maybe I should get out and ride a little. Last year I had some generous little shoves up the final rollers on the Sat. ride from Richard Sachs, Peter Weigle, and Jamie Swan as I struggled to make the finish. It really sucks to be out of form, but nice to know there are those who will help a little when you're suffering. Thanks you guys! Or were they all just trying to grab my sexy butt...........?

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Starting to get ants in my pants! Oh, I must have left a snickers in my shorts.

Ladies and gentleman....................

The 2004 Theme for the Cirque du Cyclisme is............. . (drum roll, french horns)

The bikes if ITALIA! (Italy)

That is that because: - it is Italy's turn - there are a lotta cool bikes from Italy - Many of you have cool Italian bikes - That's enough reasons!

Now PLEASE realize that while Italian bikes will recieve a certain focus and maybe additional award categories, ALL excellent examples of vintage & classic style bikes are welcome at the Cirque. Having an Italian theme does not mean everyone has to bring Italian. But if it's a toss up between the Cinelli and the Holdsworth, BRING the Cinelli!

See you all there, Dale
