Try to find a typical "aero" frame of the 80s. Probably every major company offered such a model with lugless frame, ovalized tubes, fast back seat stays, shift lever bosses on tob of the down tube, etc.
Best would be a frame made by one of the high end japanese builders. IMHO such a bike made by 3Rencho., Nagasawa,..., Zunow:

Since I recently bought a Shimano "Support Bike", I have taken in interest in Shimano groups. One that really intrigues me is the AX group. I am thinking of building a bike with this group. Does anyone have any suggestions about frameset would be considered appropriate for this group, since it was very modern for its time.
