I use Travellers' Cheques for payments outside the USA whenever the vendor doesn't take a credit card. The one time the vendor claimed he never received them I called American Express and reported the cheques lost. A week later they sent me photocopies of the front and back of the cheques which proved they had been depositied by the vendor. [Actually it turned out that the vendor's accountant had been stealing money and this was the first time he got caught].
Apparently if you draw parallell diagonal lines across the front of the
cheques they can only be deposited, and not cashed, and only by the person
whose name is on the front. Could some one from outside the USA confirn
this?
