Steven,

That is THE David Tesch. Apparently he has passed away. I spoke with him on the phone about 6 months ago and he mentioned that he had had a brain tumor. He mentioned that he was in kemo therapy but he was OK. I got the feeling that there was a possibility things weren't as OK as he was suggesting. He was in good spirits and we had a good conversation.

I know he had been calling people he knew over the past few months and I thought that possibly Dave knew his time was limited.

I knew Dave quite well. We had a lot of experiences together and he was indeed a unique person. Dave was very creative and intellegent. He had strong beliefs and opinions. He was an exceptionally talented brazer, especially with brass. I will miss him. We had some great times and some funny times, and even some bad times. But in all it was very good to know Dave; even when I moved to San Diego to get some distance between us the result was what fostered my very close friendship with Joe Bell. Now I only have three bikes that Dave built to remember him by. It is sad and tragic that Dave is no longer with us. He was talking about making some more frames and I was looking forward to painting them for him. Sadly, he didn't get the chance to do it.

Dave was a very special person. I have many special memories of experiences with Dave. It is truely sad he is gone.
